Among all the things that are scheduled to be launched at 2017, like smartphones, VR headsets, there is also a smart light bulb that also doubles as a surveillance camera.
Essentially, the light bulb features a concealed video camera, which is capable of streaming high-quality videos. So, it works like a regular light bulb, however, on its surface it has a camera sitting on top, which is camouflaged within the exterior of the product. The camera is synced with the internet, so whatever it records is live streamed and recorded on web.
The idea behind the device is surveillance. The makers of the video streaming light bulb believe that it can be used for security purposes to spot intruders into someone’s home. This light bulb is aimed at fooling a thief with its facade of just being a regular light bulb.
